south terrace, adelaide, s.a.
this south terrace city residence, with breathtaking views of the city park lands at the front and the city form the rear, has significant architectural heritage dating back to the late 1800s. the project involved a major full renovation which incorporated an additional level and elevator.
we discovered beautiful old bluestone walls during demolition and chose to leave some exposed as features to capture the heritage character and to be enjoyed by the client.
the brief for the newly designed kitchen was to add function, crispness and brightness to the home. the client incorporated their own design flair and love for romance selecting the light fittings as a finishing touch.
a newly designed bluestone wall houses wine fridges and was built as a feature back drop to the entertaining area on the new level. the room also houses a discreet entertaining kitchen, bar and large tv, with the custom-made joinery incorporating old school joinery detail, designer Italian timber veneer finish, copper feature wall tiles and modern stone tops.
through full height doors, there is an entertaining balcony and a fully retractable balcony ceiling, where owners capture breathtaking views of the cityscape and sky, whilst sipping on a glass of wine.
